january favorites

Whew! I can't believe January is already coming to a close. Looking back it seemed to be a blur. Between snow days + delays and being sick, it felt like an extra long winter break ;) Although the last 10 days have been spent getting better from the flu, directly followed by bronchitis. Literally in bed 24/7. Today is my first full day back to work. The bugs going around this year are no joke!!! Take it seriously, friends and go to the doctors! Anywho-- off the sickness soapbox. ;) On to sharing some of my favorites from January!
L.L. BEAN BOOTS- Last week L.L. Bean was having a 25% off sale- including all of their duck boots! So I knew it was time to jump on the bandwagon. I ordered the 8" tan/navy in size 8M. I normally wear a 9.5 in regular shoes but know that these boots run BIG!! They arrived earlier this week and I instantly tried them on. My initial thought: why didn't I buy these sooner?!? I could've totally used them at college. I also ordered their wool socks. Perfect addition to the boots. I'm so excited to wear these. I may or may not be hoping some snow in the near future as an excuse to break them in!
JANUARY GOALS- This post wouldn't be complete without my #powersheets goals. I forgot to snag a picture of the filled in tending list. It was a little spotty this month with all of the sickness, but I'm constantly reminding myself that you can't do it all and do it well. So I'm giving myself grace. This month I also really dug into reading Cultivate (by Lara Casey). Guys. It is SO good. It is filled with so much goodness and nuggets of truth. It's a perfect place to turn when you need a pep talk about your goals: setting or refining.

CURRENTLY READING- I have been reading a ton lately. Definitely bit by the reading bug and I don't hate it! Maybe it's the combo of the days off + cold weather, but I'm loving it. Can we be honest, I have a hard time picking a book because they all look good! Full disclosure: I'm a slow reader soooo getting through 3 books a month can be tricky! And some of these books have been on my "to read" list for way too long. It's a work in progress ;) If you have any book rec's...send them my way!

HYDRATION- One of my goals for 2018 was to drink more water. Sounds easy, right? However, it was something I really struggled with last year. So, I bought myself a new water bottle for motivation. My HydroFlask has been my best friend. It keeps my water cold allll day which I'm loving. To track my water I'm also using the MyWater app!

RECENT RECIPES- It's been a fun month trying new recipes. Hands down favorite was Pioneer Woman's   Pasta Primavera. So good but so indulgent! Also made  healthy peanut butter cups. Those were a total hit at work!! Next time I make them I think I'll make minis. A slight #pinterestfail was  this recipe. Let's just say it wasn't my favorite.

VILLANOVA- My bestie and I drove down to VU a few weekends ago to visit campus and make a purchase at the bookstore. It was so much fun to be on campus since it had been awhile. We also almost crashed a wedding! AHH! #wrongplacewrongtime But that's totally expected on a Saturday at the chapel! A lot of laughs were had :)
This post was so much longer than expected, so if you made it this far- woohoo!!!

Linking up with April + Erika today!

  1. I read Sisters First this month, too and loved it. I actually listened to it on audio and loved hearing Jenna and Barbara's alternating voices. Have a great weekend!

  2. So 2 things: 1) I think we would be total besties if you lived closer but when you do decide to call the South your home, let me know and 2) I loved Present over Perfect and It's Not OK. But I'm totally going to check out You Are a BadAss because duh, aren't we all?!? Have a great weekend!

  3. Gosh is that really your planner with all the colour coded stickers? If so - that is impressive! Do you find it helps you or do you feel pressured to meet all the goals, keep up with the lists and where you are up to with it all? Sorry to be so nosy, I am a great list maker myself and love organising! Europafox x

Thanks so much for stopping by! I love hearing from every single one of you! xoxo
