Five on Friday: 1.31.14

Let's get right down to business! Linking up with Natasha and the girls!

Yesterday day I saw the mental test from L's blog and decided to take it after seeing it on the multiple times on the internet. I wasn't completely shocked by the results because I do act mature for my age. I'll be 21 in less than two months, so it's showed I act 6 years older that my age. However, seeing the age 26 I guess is a compliment but scared me a little bit! I don't want to rush through my 20's!

Have you taken the test? What were your results?

Seriously in L.O.V.E with the new Lilly prints!! My favorite dress & print are below. They're just so spring-y and happy!! Lord knows we need some color in the midst of all this snow!! Counting down the days until Spring! I also wouldn't mind if these shoes hopped into my closet! :)

I didn't realize how colorful and summer-y this board was until I looked at the finished product. A nice reminder to know spring isn't too far away!!

Winter Necessities

Happy Wednesday, Friends!!

These -15* temperature days are killing me!! If it was snowing I may be a be a little happier. However it's overcast and gloomy 24/7! I'm ready for some sun and spring temperatures in my life ASAP!!

These are some of my winter favorites necessities to survive in Central PA:

winter necessities

1: Long Parka (I have this one HERE!) 2: Scarf 3: Bean Boots 4: Gloves 5: Hat 6: Chapstick (Blistex is my favorite!!)

So sun, if you could come out more often, I'd greatly appreciate it :)

Five on Friday {1.24.14}

Friday, I am welcoming you open arms!! This week has been a drag since Wednesday! Crawling back into my PJ's once I'm done with classes for the day :)

{1}
Jana and I have something up our sleeves and I am SOO excited to share!!!

{2}
I came across these Southerndoe t-shirts yesterday and thought they were super cute! May need to purchase once they get more in stock ;) I also love supporting businesses from the USA. Another thing I love...their motto: "Strength is Beauty"

Udon Noodle Soup: Recipe
Over Christmas break, my family and I went to one of the best Japanese restaurants, called Komé. They had the most amazing soup there that I just had to find it and make it myself. My version was definitely NO where near Komé's, but it will have to do for now!

I did make a few changes to the recipe:
-Added 2 tbsp of Lite Soy Sauce to the broth before it boiled
-Used steamable veggies, then added to broth once cooked
-Wegman's Asian Classics Udon noodles (frozen); let thaw for 2 days in fridge.
-While broth was boiling, blanch noodles for 1 minute (not much longer or they will get soggy)
-Next time: would add green onion for more flavor

Empowerment: Made to Crave {Week 1}

SO excited to be linking up with P31 Ministries this week!

I, like most of the other ladies on this journey have had this book for quite some time. One day a few weeks ago I decided to visit the P31 website, just to browse. The opening banner talked flashed about "Made to Crave." I believe that this was no coincidence. God definitely had his hands in this and I felt what a more perfect time to sign up. Instantly typed my name and email in, less than 5 minutes later I was signed up! Woohoo! I was excited. Unsure what to expect, but I was open to new experiences.

Thus far, this journey has been wonderful. When I read the first chapter on Sunday, it seemed as if my subconscious was speaking to me. Things I had never thought about finally made sense. And I knew from that point on, God and I were on this journey together.  He would never let me down. I know He is there but in those moments I could feel His presence. It was amazing. Since that moment He's been there at every turn. I have never in my life craved God more than I do now.

Empowerment was the word chosen this week and it couldn't have been a more perfect choice.
I've felt so empowered in so many aspects, I can't even begin to tell y'all. But most have been about eating the right foods. Through God's grace and Pinterest (recipes only!!) I've been able to find recipes that are HEALTHY and delicious too!! I've found how much I enjoy being creative and making new dishes. If anyone has any awesome "clean" recipes and want to share, I'd love it!!

Alas, my favorite scripture this week:

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. For when I am weak, then I am strong" 2 Corinthians 9-10

What a blessing Made to Crave has been and it's only week one!!
If you're on this journey also, I'd love to hear from you!

Five on Friday

Yay, it's friday again! This week flew by if I say so myself! And a three day weekend?! No complaints from this girl!! I have to say this week was a pretty smooth transition getting back to school which was awesome!!

..:one:..
Love these words. Right on, Oprah!

..:two:..
Sunday (1/19) marks the start of the Made to Crave OBS! I've never done an OBS (online bible study) and I'm so excited for this series to begin. I just received an email that 35,002 people have signed up!!! WHAT?! Y'all, that blows.my.mind!!! I am excited to be able to share the journey with so many others, receive insight and everything else this series has to offer. Proverbs 31 Ministries is hosting the series. Working with Lysa and Melissa is going to be wonderful! Oh! I forgot to mention, sign up is FREE! How awesome is that! All you need is to by the book. I also decided to by the M2C journal- but you DON'T need to! God is doing so many amazing things right now. I'm in awe.
Below are what I will be using during this series (& of course my Bible)

Loving my new sweatshirt blanket. Coziest blanket ever! And of course it's my two favorite colors: pink + navy. I couldn't resist! This puppy had my name written alll over it!!

..:four:..
As I'm writing this post I decided to put on Parent Trap. An oldie but good that's for sure!! I could watch this movie over, and over and over and still probably wouldn't be tired of it. Crazy to see how YOUNG Lindsay Lohan was- but that's another story! :) Or the fact that I was 5 when the movie was released. Wow. My childhood wrapped up into that whole movie. Love. I mean, obsessed.

..:five:..
Countdown is officially on: 2 months until my 21st!!!!! Sorry just a little excited ;) I better start getting my wine glasses ready

Linking up with my favorite Friday ladies!

Have a fabulous weekend, lovies!!

Five on....Saturday

Hey little blog of mine! It's been a while!
This was my last week at home before going back to school  *sad face* and it flew by!! Hence why its Five on Saturday... the week got away from me! Just when you want the time to last forever, it never does!!

ONE.
This week I finished up my holiday season working at Coach. It was the weirdest feeling! All the girls and I became so close this season and I loved it!! I will definitely miss seeing all of their beautiful faces, and of course modeling handbags all the time! ;)

TWO.
Thursday night I went to see the Grace Kelly exhibit. It was absolutely PHENOMENAL. Describing it all would never do it justice. I wish I could've walked through it again and again! So if you're in the Philadelphia area....it's a must see!!
Isn't she stunning?!
THREE.
I'd been dying to hit up KOP mall so Wednesday I met by bff, mKl after work and we *window* shopped until we dropped and enjoyed wonderful desserts from Cheesecake Factory. I loved spending some much needed girl time with her!!

FOUR.
Yesterday I treated myself to a manicure, hair cut and color- which I was in desperate need of. I'm in love with how my hair turned out!! It's amazing how a little pampering can lift a girls spirits :)

FIVE.
I'm not sure how I feel about going back to school. Spring semester always drags and I'm not sure why! Half of junior year is already over, which is crazy!

Linking up the 5 on Friday ladies!!

Going to finish enjoying these last few moments of home before heading back to school!
