I was never a hat person until recently...and now I guess you could say I'm obsessed with them. I finally came to the realization that I can protect my face from the sun but still look cute while wearing a hat. My cheeks always burn when I'm in the sun, regardless if I apply SPF 30 or SPF 100! It's so annoying! So a cute sun hat or baseball cap is the perfect solution!

73 days!!!

This morning I got up at 6:30 to purchase football tickets for the 3rd year in a row. They went on sale at 7:00 and by 7:03 I was got the confirmation email that I was the proud owner of season FOOTBALL TICKETS!!! But let me tell you, those 3 minutes were so unbelievably nerve racking trying to get the tickets and praying when they weren't sold out. Especially when ticketmaster was taking what felt like an eternity to process the order, I thought I was going to have an anxiety attack!  

I can't wait to be back in Happy Valley to see all of my wonderful friends and get back into my routines. 

73 days until I'm back in Beaver Stadium singing dear old state with 110,000 of my closest friends and cheering on my favorite sports team (besides the phillies!)

friday fancies

I'm heading down the shore for a couple days and I couldn't be more excited. These last few weeks have been so stressful. It will be a great time to just relax and soak up the salty air. 

I thought it'd be be fun to show what's in my beach bag because today's the first day of summer! Woohoo!  

1. beach bag- Lilly's Shoreline Tote is perfect to fit all beach essentials
2. book- I usually grab whatever book is sitting on my nightstand. I can't live without sitting on the beach and reading....that's like my favorite part!
3. waterproof bag & contents- love this nylon bag because it's waterproof and is the perfect size to fit your phone, lip balm, a few dollars and other small items you may need
4. sunnies- I'm really picky about sunglasses but I recently found a polarized pair from Ralph by Ralph Lauren and I love them!!!
5. water- never leave the house without my Camelback water bottle
6. sunscreen- I burn too easily so I'd rather lather on the sunscreen then look like a tomato! 
7. towel- can't go wrong with a preppy vineyard vines towel
8. bathing suit- seersucker + j.crew= bathing suit perfection....definitely on my wish list!!!
9. flip flops- well that' just a given, but I love my north face ones
10. cover up- cute striped cover ups are perfect for the beach 
11. hat- you can never go wrong with a floppy hat, especially a Lilly one! Can ya tell I love her ChaCha print?? But let's be honest...who doesn't love it!?

And the search begins...

...to look for a NEW CAR!!!!! Well, used but new to me! Eeeek! I'm so excited (can ya tell!?)

I'm looking into the Hyundai Santa Fe's. My stepmom has one and loves it! I think they're adorable and the perfect sized SUV. I love my honda civic but lets face it, she has 135,000 miles on it and was a great first car but moving on into the real world in a few years I need something bigger and more practical. Wow....I must becoming a grown up if I'm thinking into the future, mentioning the real world and thinking more practical. Yikes. All so exciting but scary at the same time. 

I have a sunroof in my civic and let me tell you, I LOVE IT. So I'm crossing my fingers my new car has a sunroof because that will be so sad in the summer. And I would love if my Santa Fe was navy because it's my favorite color, but if it's not I think I'll survive. As long as it's not bright red or some hideous color, I will be okay.

summer bucket list

I'm actually slightly embarrassed to be writing this post mid-June, but seriously didn't even realize I forgot. MY SUMMER BUCKET LIST. I've been home for about a month and a half and totally forgot about some summer goals. May went so fast and June is flying too. Considering I feel all I do is work and never see friends or do fun things these activities may be a challenge. So hopefully I'll be able to accomplish a majority of the things on my list.  

I'm sure there's many more things I'd like to complete this summer but I think above is a fair list to start with!

it's wedding time!

2013 is seriously the year of weddings! I haven't been to a wedding in YEARS (so sad!) but this year I know so many people who are married or are getting married!! Tomorrow my stepmom's nephew is tying the knot and I can't wait! It's going to be a blast and so much fun for our family to be together.

Another week almost down! Can't believe it's already Thursday. Feels like Monday was just yesterday but I'm not complaining one bit!! This week has been a little rough and I've been stressed, lacking motivation and just trying to figure everything out.

Saturday was a blast!! We all had so much fun at the wedding. Everything was beautiful and even the weather cooperated!!! I'm so happy for Jason & Sara and to finally be able to welcome her into our family. 

Congrats Jason and Sara!!  We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!!! You deserve it! And enjoy JAMAICA!!!!!  xoxo

It's already Wednesday?!

I can't believe it's already Wednesday! This week is flying, but I'm not complaining!!!

I heard a GREAT recipe this morning....HEALTHY (yes, healthy) pancakes!!! I was so excited to try it...and I thought they were pretty good!! I was expecting a thicker pancake consistency but oh well!

Ingredients:

1 banana

2 large eggs

2 drops of vanilla

A sprinkle of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Makes 5-6 pancakes

Time: about 10-15 minutes including prep

I first used a whisk to mash up the banana then added the 2 eggs. The batter will be a little lumpy due to the banana but I tried to whisk as much as I could it so it'd be pretty smooth. Then add 2 drops of vanilla for flavor, otherwise it will taste like mostly banana.

I used a 1/4 cup to measure out the batter and added a few chocolate chips :)

Also, make sure you keep a close eye on them while cooking because they cook SO fast. I wasn't paying as much attention, hence why mine are slightly burned in the picture below!

Although they're thin, they're very filling. I made five but probably only ate 3 or so. If you try them, let me know what you think!
