Lazy Thursday

I feel like I should be doing something today, but the truth is I don't have anything pressing due. I got all of my school work done before I left for my little break so I could relax, which is so unheard of! I'm definitely not complaining and going to soak up every minute I have a home and RELAX and do whatever my little heart desires! There are so many movies I want to see and tv shows to catch up on. So I plan on spending the rest of my day watching them on Netflix and Amazon Prime.

These are just a few I have to catch up on! What movies or t.v. shows are you watching right now?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Today I'm loving....

- that I am able to go HOME today!!!!!!!!! (can you tell I can't wait to see my loved ones for a few days?)
-jam sessions with Samantha on our 4 hour car ride home
-...and surprising my mom was by far the best and made the drive so worth it!
-warmer temperatures and seeing the snow starting to melt
-the birthday cards that are still coming!
-my sweet, true friends who I am so blessed to have in my life, you mean the world to me

I found this a few days ago and it couldn't be more true

Here Comes the Easter Bunny

I can't believe Easter is less than a week away! I'm happy to say, I gave up Hot Chocolate from Starbucks and I haven't caved yet! WOO!

Growing up, we always had an easter egg hunt on Easter morning with all of my cousins. In the eggs there was usually a few coins, maybe even a dollar or two and we thought we were in heaven! As we've all gotten older, our family decided to do individual baskets. I put together some goodies that I would love to see in mine this year!

-Essie nail polish- I seriously LOVE Essie nail polish. I'm a fan of bright colors and especially with Spring (supposedly) coming it gives me even more of an excuse to wear a pretty, bright pink!

-Movies & Magazines-these two goodies always give me an excuse to relax every once in a while and they're pretty much a staple in gift baskets.

-Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts giftcards- personally I love both. Starbucks is usually where my girlfriends meet up and chat for HOURS. It's so therapeutic, I highly recommend! And of course I love Dunkin Donuts Iced Hazelnut coffee when I'm on the go!

-Chapstick-let's face it, you can never have enough chapstick. I always lose mine so having extra on hand is fabulous!

-Reese's peanut butter's chocolate, and we all know you can never go wrong with this heavenly treat!

What do you get in your Easter basket?

Waking up to snow this morning was definitely not helping with my case of the Mondays. But, I was thankful that we had a 2 hour delay so I could catch some extra zzzz's and then find out two of my classes were cancelled! Campus looked really pretty too!
Overall, it was a decent Monday.

I hope whoever is reading my blog had a great Monday!

Taking Chances

I feel like I've failed already as a blogger because I was too busy to post the past few days. Whoops. Anyway, onto today's blog post...

I just turned 20 last week and I've been kind of down in the dumps lately. Partially because of the weather, being far away from home, and over all just kinda blah. I feel like I haven’t been living, like TRULY living. You may wonder what that definition is, and quite honestly I’m not sure but I feel taking chances would definitely be a part of it. Time is flying by WAY too fast and I want experience as many things as I can. I haven’t been taking enough “me” time whether it’d be watching tv, getting a manicure, reading a book etc. I think I’ve suffered a lot from that, which sounds really selfish but we all need to do things for ourselves every once in a while. Which leads me to my post about taking chances…

I've wanted to change my hair color up for a while. But, I was scared of messing it up, not being able t0 trust someone and whatnot. Friday my friend Alyssa decided she wanted bangs, and being the nice friend I am, I drove her to the salon. It was literally a blessing in disguise. Hannah, who cut Alyssa’s bangs was so sweet. After Alyssa was done with her appointment, I asked Hannah a couple questions about coloring my hair. She seemed about our age and there was an instant connection and I felt I could trust her. I also didn’t have to worry about knowing her and hurting her feelings if I didn’t like the color (which was a big plus because that was another fear of mine). So within a few minutes, I decided to take a chance. I made an appointment with her yesterday afternoon at 4. Not going to lie, I was scared but knew if I didn’t like it I could just die my hair back.

What do you think?

Although it's a small change, I feel like a new person. Taking those two hours and doing something for me made all the difference.

Last weekend I took another chance. I took a big girl road trip by myself, followed the GPS, read signs, jammed out (thanks Luke Bryan) and arrived at E-town safe and sound. I had a BLAST with my friends and I'm so glad I made the trip. (that’s a post for another day!) You're probably thinking, "she thinks that's taking chances, it’s nothing." And yes you are completely right, looking back on it, they're both small things in the scheme of life, but in the moment it was big to me. I trusted my gut, it gave me more confidence and I haven’t looked back.

I found this quote and fell in love with it! Here's to taking more chances!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

This week I am loving....

  • I'll be home in a week! I'm soo excited to sleep in my own bed and do all of the little things  I've taken for granted. It's only for the weekend to celebrate Easter, but it will be SO worth it!!
  • Chobani Bite! I came across it last week and have absolutely fallen in love. It's my new favorite snack...and it's only 100 calories!!
  • Pink Essie nail polish
  • Jesus Calling App! I recently just came across this app (I'm a little late, I know) but it's seriously amazing and the daily devotionals put everything into perspective. I love being able to read it everyday. It's also super convenient because it's on my phone, so I can read on the go. I highly recommend it if you don't have it!
  • First Day of Spring- technically it's today, but with all this snow I'm not sure when Spring is going to decide to finally make an appearance!
  • Daylight Savings...yes it was so unbelievably hard to get used to and definitely took my body a few days to adjust. Now I'm able to enjoy it, and I'm loving it! The only thing that would make it 100x better was if SPRING would finally come around!!

Hi and welcome to my blog! I’ve been debating about starting a blog for a while, and after looking at so many different ones, I decided to start my OWN! Yup, I took the plunge and I’m finally apart of the blogging world! YAYYY! There’s sooo much to learn. Bear with me because this could be a complete success, or a total disaster! So I’ll take as much advice as I can get. I created this blog because I wanted to be able to document my experiences and thoughts through my college and “transitional years,” or anyone whose willing to listen to me vent and offer me advice during this time in my life!

Here’s some things about me:

  • I’m a sophomore (soon to be junior…AHHHH!) at Penn State studying Speech and Language Pathology
  • Family and Friends are my favorite people in the world, they have taught me so many things
  • Essie nail polish is a favorite
  • Dunkin Donuts iced hazelnut coffee gets me through the day
  • I’m a sucker for anything nautical, monogrammed, or southern
  • I love the smell of ocean air, and the feeling of sand between my feet
  • Navy and Pink are my favorite colors
  • Photography is also a huge passion
  • If you try and tell me there’s someone more attractive than Luke Bryan, Chris Young or Jason Aldean, I’m sorry but you will not win

There’s so much more to learn and discuss, so I hope you stay along for the ride as I go through this crazy thing called LIFE!
